Event 5 in the Bike Tyrestore Track Action programme, this time with Michelin!

The date: Wednesday 13th August
The place: Oulton Park
The name: “Get On Track with Michelin Two Compound Technology”
The bonus: Free Two Compound Technology tyres by Michelin.

12 days to go. The weather's still looking good and, shortly, we'll be delivering the free Two Compound Technology Michelin tyres, selected by our customer guest riders to use on track at Oulton Park, also posting Joining Instructions, plus circuit information, so everyone is fully briefed beforehand.

Michelin's hospitality unit, F1 simulator, Bib-suit and team, plus the Aprilia RoadShow are all gearing up for the event, as are the Bike Tyrestore crew of Adam, Becca, Peter, Richard (aka Bibendum) and Traci, who will be making sure our invited riders and supporters have a fantastic time.

Everything is sorted, but please call Becca on freephone 0800 281 413 with any queries, and do kindly remember that the latest date for withdrawing from the event, to allow us to offer the place to someone on our standby list is, next Wednesday, 6th August!

We have a special treat for anyone who is new to Oulton and wants to learn the track. Darren Gough from Dave Hawkes Motorcycle Services, in Manchester, rode with us during the June event with Avon Tyres, when we experienced our first outing at the Cheshire circuit, and thoughtfully fitted an on-board camera to his VFR800. The film can be viewed in "Video Clips", on "Features", within our website www.worldofbiketyres.com and will certainly wet the appetite of anyone joining us for the forthcoming Michelin track action.

Many thanks to Darren and the team from Dave Hawkes for this great piece of filmwork!

August special offer/clearance stock can be checked out in "Special Offers" at www.worldofbiketyres.com right now. This website area is password protected to ensure trade only viewing. Please call the CSA team on freephone 0800 281 413 for your password.

As soon as the Pirelli Summer Workshop Kit launched on Moto-Vate last week, we had a huge demand for the Polo and T-shirts, fitting gloves, cap, pen, key ring and coffee mug which make up the set and, errm, ran out!

So apologies to anyone who has not yet received their Kit - Pirelli rushed more gear over to us and the job's in progress, with all orders being fulfilled in the next few days.

Every month, we'll have a new featured attraction at www.moto-vate.com, and for August 2008 we can bring you LOVEFILM.COM with 30 Day's Free Membership for registered users on our programme! Over 65,000 DVD titles are available, and the free trial period for "Moto-Vaters" is double the usual offer.

Go www.moto-vate.com to find out all about LOVEFILM.COM and check out the many other customer loyalty rewards, or to join the programme, free of charge, via the link below.

DEALER OPEN DAY SUPPORT

We're always happy to support a dealer's Open Day, at the least we'll supply plenty of tyre related material and freebies to give away to rider visitors. But, to do the job properly, we like to run out a bike tyre advice clinic, and we've been rethinking how to do this, as we've been having a bit of an identity crisis!!

Clearly, we can't be there as Bike Tyrestore, but we don't generate enough interest if we try to blend in with the dealership staff. Also, we've previously majored the "clinic" on Bridgestone products which, of course, catches a great many rider's attention, but ignores the fact that a lot of retail customers do have a lively curiosity in the other brilliant ranges available.

Our "World Of Bike Tyres" is not brand exclusive, but looks to get everyone together to "raise the profile of motorcycle tyre sales", so we're talking to all of the leading manufacturers and hope to develop a broad band approach, with an "industry identity" enabling us to support the Open Day as the dealer's "Bike Tyre Tech Team", on hand to do the job of advising, recommending, and generating sales for our hosts - even handing out the odd valve cap!

Next time we're out is Saturday 9th August, at Kings Two Wheel Centre in Kidlington.

Please give us at least a month's notice, if you want us to attend your event. And, watch this space for more news!

MotoGP junkies will be in withdrawal until the next event in the 2008 World Championship, at Brno on 17th August. But, there's still plenty of bike sport around and this Sunday, 3rd August, 10 lucky Bike Tyrestore customers will be guests of Pirelli for the Brands Hatch SBK Hannspree Superbike World Championship race day.

Pirelli will be official tyre supplier for the FIM SBK World Championship until 2012. Sunday's guest package includes admission to Brands with full hospitality! Many thanks to Pirelli's Moto team for arranging this great day out.

Aussie, Troy Bayliss, leads the SBK Riders Ranking before Sunday's round, followed by German, Neukirchner, Corser, another Australian, Checa from Spain, and Haga, Japan.

Just a reminder that we are happy to supply motorcycle tyre technical training, through the medium of a comprehensive course presentation, carried out by our BDM and Training manager, Adam (of flying NSR250 track day fame!).

At "yours", or "ours", to suit your convenience, one-to-one or in a group, the best part of three hours will be spent looking at bike tyre construction and use, dispelling some of the myths and providing answers to the questions riders ask, including the all-important "what's the best tyre for my bike?".

Adam's been to John O'Groats and Land's End so wherever you are, don't hesitate to make an appointment with him, receiving both Training Manual and Certificate after the course, by calling the team on the usual number, 0800 281 413, or e-mail adam@biketyrestore.com
